Composer, film director, broadcaster, director of Cór Chúil Aodha, founding director of Cór Ban Chúil Aodha, teacher, writer and beekeeper. He lives with his wife Geraldine and their family of four in Cúil Aodha. His interests lie in the areas of art, history and native heritage at home and abroad.
Seán Ó Sé
Is mar amhránaí is mó a bheadh aithne ag daoine ar Sheán Ó Sé, go mór mór de bharr a chuid oibre le Seán Ó Riada. Biodh is gur o Bhéal Átha na Lice, láimh le Beanntraí é, tá cónaí ar Sheán i dteannta a mhná Eibhlín i gCathair Chorcaí. Tá triúr clainne acu, Áine, Con agus Íde. Chaith sé beagnach dhá scór blian ag múineadh scoile i dtuaisceart na cathrach san.
Seán Ó Sé is best known for his singing, especially through his work with Seán Ó Riada. Though originally from Ballylickey near Bantry, he lives with his wife Eileen in Cork City. They have three in family, Áine, Con and Íde. Seán spent nearly forty years teaching in the northside of Cork City.
This live recording of the concert given by Seán Ó Sé and Peadar Ó Riada in December 2005 at Ionad Cultúrtha Bhaile Mhúirne presents for the first time on record the creative collaboration between Seán and Peadar which commenced on the day in 1971 when they accompanied Seán Ó Riada to the chapel in Cúil Aodha on his last journey.
