This is based on a poem of my friend Donal O Liathain. I was very taken with the ideas in the poem and this I tried to reflect in the melody. I hope some of the strength that these ideas stir in me transfer to the music.

This is a tune I put together for the Triúr project. In it there are three parts each one representing each player. It was interesting to see how Martin and Caoimhín gravitated towards different musical parts I had in mind for their tonality, as I perceived them. When things like that work it adds greatly to ones confidence, which in music is always
very fragile for me. This particular tune was conceived with a certain amount of cerebral calculation so that the parts could be turned in various ways to get different results.

Tá 4 cd nua an seachtain seo - 4 new cds this week, Na Fir Bolg - Jack Talty & Cormac Begley on 2 concertinas. Cliabháin an Dúchais Bríd Ó Donnoghue & Family, Trasna na dTonnta Colm Gannon and his father John and Máire Creighton. and the fourth is The Shores of Lough Graney with Martin Hayes and his father PJ.

All 4 cds have a kind of family theme in them without intending to and all four are good. As usual 4 tracks from each to give you an ideas as to what they sound like. Logs/listing for all the programs tracks are in the usual place here.
