Winter Hornpipe (3:16)
A hornpipe was needed for this cd and it was dark and raining and sleeting outside the window when this tune arrived.

The Mouse’s Reel (2:31)
We had a mouse in the kitchen that appeared to my better half late one night. There was a bit of a fuss until his visit ended. In this tune I could see him sticking out his head and wondering would he chance a dash across the room. The last line sees him doing so and disappearing down into darkness. This mouse may be gone but he is not forgotten.

In Praise of Connie (3:37)
My friend Connie O Connell and I have a gig every Thursday night in the Mills pub in Baile Mhúirne with another friend, Eibhlín de Paor. We are nearly always joined by the man of the house, Don Ó Laoghaire, as well as Seán Ó Croinín and others. In the last Triúr
album I had a tune called “Waiting for Connie” which had come to me when I was early one Thursday night but this one is insurance in case anyone should think I was intimating Connie was late – he wasn’t.

The Éigse Slide
We recorded the cd Triúr Arís during the week preceding Éigse Dhiarmuidín in Cúil Aodha (always the first weekend in December). This slide gets its name from the Festival as it came together during that recording session.
